Final Reflection Blog Post

1.What is something that happened this semester (in this class or outside of class) that you think you will remember for the rest of your life?
I went to Ruth and Kristin's house, and had thanksgiving meals with their family. During the time we enjoyed, I felt so happy that I could touch real American culture.

2.What is something specific you accomplished this semester that you are proud of?
I finished my English Composition class, and my introductor said I did nice work. At the first week I arrived here, a Chinese professor told us this class maybe difficult for us, but finally I got it.

3.What was the nicest thing someone in our program or at Millersville did for you this semester?
My English Composition classmate Victoria helped me a lot. She was an international student in the past, so she knew my problems, and she invited me to learn with her together. She explained all my concerns, and helped me do the homework.

4.What was the most challenging part of this semester for you (in class or outside of class)?
Once I had some problems with my English110 class, my professor's teaching method was not suitable for me. At that time, I need to connect with lots of people, such as teachers in our program, my advisor and the chair of Department of Academic Advisement. That was really an big challenge for me, thus I'm so glad that everything comes better now.

5.Where is your favorite place on Millersville's campus? Why?
My favorite place is the lake with two swans, they are symbol of our campus. Because my friends and I always go for a walk along the lake.

6.If you could change one thing that happened this semester, what would it be?
If I continue staying in professor sheaffer's class, I would not understand anything so that this semester will be boring. I will lose lots of interesting things, and will have a bad experience.

7.What is something that was hard for you at the start of the semester but is easy now?
The first time I went to Walmart, I did not know what's on the wrapping paper of those products, it was hard for me to buy things which I need. Now it is easy to choose my favorite goods.

8.What is something you taught your teacher or classmates this year?
I taught them how to write and speak some words in Chinese, and told them a lot of things about Chinese culture.

9.Of the trips we took this year (to Lancaster Central Market and the walking tour, to Wheatland, to the North Museum [if you went on your own], and to Eshleman Elementary School), which was your favorite? Why?
My favorite one is Eshleman Elementary School. Because I met lots of friendly children there, and I enjoyed playing with them. I am happy to tell them our country's culture. That's really an unforgettable experience.

10.What is something the ELI teachers or administrators could have done to make this semester better?
Cliff helped me understand the homework better, and introduced lots of things about American culture to help us get used to life here. Kristin in lab is very friendly, every time she is so kind to help us solve problems. Christina did a lot of things to help me choose classes. Everyone tried their best to help us be better.
11.What are six adjectives that best describe this semester for you?
Meaningful, new, cheerful, thankful, full, unforgettable.

12.Knowing what you know now, if you could write a letter to yourself that would travel back in time so that you would receive it at the start of the semester, what advice would you give your younger self?
I would talk to me that I should take part in more activities and be brave to show myself.

13.What advice would you give students who will be coming to the ELI next year?
To listen carefully and to review the notes are the best way to learn. Do not be shy to ask questions.

14.What is one question you still wonder about life at Millersville University?
I want to learn how to cook American food. Besides, two questions bother me the whole semester.
Why don't American students use umbrella when it rains heavily although they take umbrella with them?
Why American students feel so happy that they still wear short clothes in such a low temperature?
